Mr Hussain is a Laparoscopic General and Colorectal Consultant Surgeon at the Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Leighton, Crewe. He is the Clinical Lead for Governance and Quality improvement services in the General Surgery department and his special interests are Colorectal, Laparoscopic, Hernia Surgery and Endoscopy.
Mr Hussain trained in Pakistan, England, and France in surgery. He worked as a Junior Surgical Trainee at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and worked as a Senior Trainee Registrar for six years in the West Midlands. Mr Hussain completed his early Rectal Cancer Fellowship (Transanal endoscopic microsurgery, TEMS) in Surrey and Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (TATME) in Bordeaux, France, in 2017.

Mr Hussain has been on the Specialist Register since April 2018. He set up and developed the Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery department at Bronglais Hospital Aberystwyth, Wales in 2019 and has held his post at the Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since August 2019

Mr Hussain is also a Cheshire and Mersey Deanery Educational and Clinical Tutor for Colorectal Surgery Speciality Trainee doctors, and his research interests include bowel cancer, minimally invasive surgery, enhanced recovery after surgery and day-case surgery.
